Albania’s Project Blue has ordered a 130 MWh battery system from Sungrow for the first 185 MWp phase of its solar programme. The order includes 26 PowerTitan 2.0 battery systems and 13 transformer units, according to SEE Energy News.
Developers Matrix Konstruksion and Blessed Investment Group are also planning a second phase. Financial terms and the commissioning date were not disclosed, so the order should not be read as proof of an operating project or guaranteed merchant revenue. COTECH has no stated relationship with the project.
For procurement teams, the case makes storage duration, dispatch controls, grid access, warranty limits, augmentation planning and merchant-revenue assumptions central to evaluating subsidy-free solar-plus-storage in hydropower- and import-dependent markets.
