Canadian Solar Starts HJT Cell Production at Indiana Facility

Canadian Solar has begun producing heterojunction (HJT) solar cells at its Jeffersonville, Indiana facility. The start-up represents phase one of a planned 6 GW US cell plant.

The company had previously described the first phase as 2.1 GW and expects work on phase two to begin before the end of 2026. The facility is intended to manufacture HJT cells.

For B2B buyers, the ramp is a supply signal rather than a product specification. Teams evaluating HJT modules should confirm cell origin, available volumes, qualification data, warranties and delivery schedules directly with prospective suppliers.
