Enel Colombia has started commercial operations at the 256 MW Atlántico solar plant, completing a three-project photovoltaic complex in the Atlántico department with approximately 985 MW of combined capacity. pv magazine Global reported the milestone on 23 October 2026.
Verified project data
Atlántico uses 403,920 solar modules across 34 arrays on tracking systems and is expected to generate 525 GWh per year. The plant covers about 415 hectares, includes a 3.5 km transmission line to the Sabanalarga substation, and represents an investment of approximately $200 million. The wider complex comprises Guayepo I and II at 462.4 MW, Guayepo III at 266 MW and Atlántico at 256 MW.
Procurement impact
The commissioning highlights demand for utility-scale modules, trackers, transmission works, testing and grid-integration services in Latin America. Developers and suppliers assessing comparable projects should review tracker performance, land and interconnection scope, local workforce requirements and annual-yield assumptions.
