The Yaqara project framework targets 142 MW of solar and 240 MWh of storage across two stages for Energy Fiji.

EPC Renewables and Cobra Plan 142 MW Solar-Plus-Storage Project in Fiji

EPC Renewables, Grupo Cobra and Energy Fiji Ltd. signed memorandums of understanding for the Yaqara solar-and-battery project. The planned two stages comprise 22 MW of solar with 40 MWh of storage, followed by 120 MW of solar with 200 MWh of battery storage.

EPC Renewables says it will finance, develop, build, own, operate and maintain the facility, supported by a long-term energy supply arrangement. Energy Fiji aims to finalise a PPA by Q1 2027 and commercial operation by Q1 2029. The procurement signal is still development-stage: buyers should track the PPA, transmission scope and future EPC packages. COTECH has no stated project relationship.
