Georgia Power announced commercial operation of the 128 MW Robins Battery Facility near Warner Robins, Georgia. The BESS can deliver stored energy for up to four hours and is paired with the nearby Robins Solar Facility to shift renewable output toward higher-demand periods.
The utility says Burns & McDonnell provided engineering, procurement and construction and that the facility is part of a wider storage build-out approved through Georgia’s IRP process. The announcement is relevant to BESS integrators, EPCs, grid controls and commissioning suppliers; COTECH is not involved in the project.
