India Plans Incentives for More Than 10 GW of Polysilicon Capacity

India's planned upstream incentive scheme could diversify PV supply, but announced capacity is not yet qualified, contractable output.

India Plans Incentives for More Than 10 GW of Polysilicon Capacity

India is planning production-linked incentives for more than 10 GW of polysilicon capacity, targeting an upstream gap in its domestic PV manufacturing chain.

For buyers, the useful milestones are policy approval, named developers, financing, construction, commissioning and qualified output. Each stage changes delivery risk, while origin requirements still need a traceable cell-to-material route.

New capacity should remain on a monitored supplier list until model documentation and allocation are available. COTECH will continue separating announced capacity from bankable supply in project discussions.
