Mexico’s CFE Plans 5.48 GW of Solar Projects Through 2030

Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) published its 2026–2030 development program on September 1, listing 5.48 GW of identified solar projects within MXN 651 billion of planned generation, transmission and distribution investment. The program also cites battery storage and 175 transmission projects covering 7,545 km to integrate new renewable generation.\n\nFor developers, EPCs and module buyers, the signal is a pipeline rather than an awarded bill of materials: the plan does not yet specify individual BESS sizes, investment or delivery dates. Procurement teams should track project-level tenders, grid-connection studies, local-content rules and storage interfaces before committing supply. COTECH did not supply this external program.
