Japanese manufacturer Toyo held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of its solar module plant in Humble, Texas. The company says the facility will reach 2 GW of nameplate module capacity.
Toyo also confirmed that the next step is a 1.5 GW heterojunction (HJT) cell manufacturing line, with construction expected to finish in the first quarter of 2028. The expansion is being financed in part through a US$50 million share sale announced over the summer. These are company-reported plans, not a COTECH partnership or supply commitment.
For buyers and EPCs, the development is a signal to check US-origin documentation, production ramp timing, technology qualification, tariff exposure, warranty terms and delivery commitments before treating planned capacity as available supply.
