The United States has introduced Section 232 measures combining tariffs with minimum import prices for polysilicon. Because polysilicon is an upstream input for most crystalline modules, the effect may reach buyers through revised module quotations.
Exposure depends on the material source, cell and module production route, customs classification, Incoterm and delivery date. Buyers should request written origin evidence and a clear statement of who carries tariff risk.
Before award, update the landed-cost model and keep a qualified alternate route. COTECH buyers can use the change as a prompt to verify bill of materials, price validity and delivery assumptions at model level.
