Where this format fits

Evaluate CSTB72 for commercial roofs or ground-mounted projects that can accommodate a 2.278 m dual-glass module. Its 580–605 W bins provide a different layout option from the compact CSTB54 range; more watts per panel do not automatically mean more installed watts on an obstructed roof. Compare usable roof geometry, access routes, setbacks and the required string layout before selecting the larger format.

Size, handling & installation constraints

At 31.5 kg per module, lifting, roof access and the approved clamp arrangement deserve a separate review. The listed front/rear test loads of 5400/2400 Pa are not universal allowable design loads: obtain the mounting-specific installation instructions and the project structural check. The 30 mm frame must match the chosen clamps. Rear-side gain depends on clearance, shading and surface reflectance; 80 ± 5% bifaciality is not an 80% annual energy bonus.

Electrical selection example

For the 605 W bin, Voc is 53.10 V and Isc is 14.30 A at STC. As a preliminary cold-voltage example only, using a cell temperature of −10°C and the listed Voc coefficient gives 53.10 × [1 + 0.0025 × 35] ≈ 57.75 V per module. A designer must then check the inverter voltage limit, module limit, applicable design factors and hot-condition MPPT operation; this example is not an approved string length. Check current limits separately when modelling rear-side contribution.

Documents to request with a quote

Specify the required power bin and quantity, destination, roof or ground application, inverter model and mounting system. Ask for the current dimensioned drawing, clamp zones, connector make and compatibility, flash-test/binning report, packing list and model-specific certificates. The PDF lists 36 modules per pallet and 720 per 40′HC; confirm the actual packing plan and shipment weight rather than treating these as available stock or a minimum order.

Certification scope

The datasheet lists IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC 61701, IEC 62716 and UL 61730, alongside CE and TÜV marks. Those labels do not by themselves verify a certificate or market approval. Request certificate numbers, issuing bodies, applicable model and factory scope, current status, and destination-market requirements.

Warranty: confirm the contractual version

The supplied PDF states 15-year product and 30-year linear-power terms, with at least 87.4% at year 30. This is a datasheet statement, not a substitute for the signed warranty: request the applicable model list, exclusions, remedy and regional service terms.
